MN Weather: Rain, Possible Snow Showers Return Friday, Ushering In Chilly Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — After a slight Thursday warmup, more rain, snowflakes and a winter-like chill are on the way through the weekend.

Friday will be another cloudy and windy day, with rain and even some possible snow showers in store for the Twin Cities. Even though the high will reach 39, it will only feel like the mid-20s. There will be a high wind watch in place for much of the western part of Minnesota, including a large chunk of the bottom third of the state — with winds reaching speeds of up to 50 mph.

There will be more sun and less wind this weekend, but it will be even cooler. Highs will only reach into the mid-30s, with lows in the mid-teens. Some parts of far northern Minnesota may even drop to zero degrees early Sunday.

More precipitation may return next week, with a mix of rain and snow possible from Tuesday into Wednesday.
