MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — On Wednesday, Gov. Tim Walz is set to lay out the restrictions bars and restaurants will have to follow in order to reopen in next month.
Here are the latest updates in the COVID-19 pandemic:
- 12:34 p.m.: The movie theater at St. Anthony Main announced this week their intention to reopen for business Friday, June 5 with COVID-19 safety precautions in place.
- 12:15 p.m.: After 11 years of operation, the Burger Jones in Minneapolis will permanently close its doors. The Burnsville location, however, will live on.
- 11:00 a.m.: MDH reports an additional 645 cases of COVID-19 and 29 more deaths.
- 9:20 a.m.: The Minnesota Timberwolves say they are working to reopen their practice facility at Mayo Clinic Square for voluntary player workouts, starting on Thursday.
- 8:45 a.m.: Target reports that its online sales more than doubled during the first quarter. The Minneapolis-based retailer also reported an 11.3% increase in revenue.
- 8:21 a.m.: The latest food establishment to close permanently due to the COVID-19 crisis is Moose & Sadie’s, a staple of Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood for nearly three decades.
- 5:28 a.m.: Unlike President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence says he is not taking the disputed drug hydroxychloroquine.
- 5:23 a.m.: The Congressional Budget Office is forecasting high unemployment for years to come.
