HUGO, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol said one person was killed and two others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Hugo Monday morning.
The patrol said the crash occurred at Highway 61 near Leibel Street around 8:20 a.m. A driver in a Ford Expedition rear-ended a Dodge Dart that was turning left onto the highway, according to the patrol. The Dart was pushed into the northbound side of Highway 61, where it collided head-on with a Volvo.
The Expedition’s driver, a 44-year-old woman from Chisago City, was uninjured. Her passenger, a 15-year-old boy, was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, as was the Volvo’s driver.
The driver of the Dart, a 51-year-old North Branch woman, died in the crash, state patrol records indicate.
