City of St. Paul to remove 500 more ash trees in ash borer war

St. Paul Parks and Recreation will resume removing aged and declining ash trees this month from about two-dozen streets to get ahead of the emerald ash borer, a tree-killing beetle making itself at home in two St. Paul neighborhoods.

Robert "Bob" McGuire, a resident of Milpitas since 1965 when he was hired as the first parks and recreation director for the City of Milpitas, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012. He was 81. He is survived by his wife Harriett of 57 years and his two sons, Mike McGuire and Glen McGuire.
